Meet Emily, your friendly, local Southsea Yoga Instructor.

 

Emily's journey with yoga began in 2016 when she visited India and was drawn to the ancient teachings of yoga and ayurveda. Her travels in Nepal, Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Bali introduced her to Buddhist mindfulness teachings, which she has incorporated

into her practice.

 

Emily's fusion of movement, mindfulness, breathwork and meditation has been extremely beneficial for her mental health, self-love, and body image after struggling for many years. Through these fusion classes, she invites you to discover your emotions, and get in touch with intuitive movement in your unique body with a blend of modern and ancient teachings and techniques.

MY STORY

After practicing yoga for several years, I struggled to find a local studio space or teacher that provided light-hearted and modern approach to yoga and mindfulness. All I wanted was to flow and move my body to a killer playlist, to learn techniques and try new poses in a friendly, chilled environment without the heavy and sometimes deeply intimidating and spiritual aspect to yoga. 

During the coronavirus pandemic as part of my yoga teacher training I started to offer friendly community classes as a free community space to share motivation, practice yoga and experience a wellbeing journey together, supporting one another in those difficult times. As the classes and community developed, so did the need for further, in-depth classes and workshops which lead to my decision to expand my business further, and so birthed

My professional training currently consists of  200 hour Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher Certification (200RYT), 40 hour Yin Yoga Certification, 25 hour Restorative Yoga certification in addition to a 200 hour Meditation alliance registered Meditation Teacher Training (200CMT) and 50-hour Pranayama (breathwork) certification.

Providing a modern alternative to traditional yoga classes my classes are fun, playful and light-hearted accompanied by power playlists, inspirational quotes and affirmations with contemporary mindfulness and breathwork techniques. My teaching approach is all about meeting your body where it's at and focusing on how yoga feels, not how it looks.
